Actions represent decisions and choices made by catchment stakeholders (farmers, other catchment managers, individuals or the community) which have a physical impact on catchment stocks or flows.

There are five actions identified here:

i) Imports to farm (amount and type of seed, fertiliser, feed and livestock bought or brought in to catchment)

ii) Exports from farm (harvest, livestock and animal products sold or taken out of catchment)

iii) Land use and management (infrastructure, farm type and rotation, stocking densities, environmental protection, agri-environment schemes and mitigation options)

iv) Soil use and management (type and timing of arable and grassland management operations, timing and amount of fertiliser, manure and slurry applications)

v) Other (non-farmer/advisor impacts on river and riparian area, such as community tree planting, debris removal etc.)
